At 08:40 Hours on the 16th of October 7 Fire Engines, 2 Water Bowsers and 1 Breathing apparatus support united attended a building fire in Thwaites near Millom. Crews used Hose reel jets, main jets, ladders and light portable pumps to extingquish the fires. Crews were in attendance for several hours.

At approximately 11:00 hours on the 15th of October, two Fire Engines attended reports of a building fire in Barrow. On arrival crews found a dishwasher alight. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a dry powder extingquisher to extingquish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately twenty minutes.

At 14:09 on 14th October 2019 two fire engines and a rapid response vehicle rescued an elderly gentleman from a twenty five feet deep embankment off the A6, Heversham, Milnthorpe. Firefighters used twin rope access equipment, small tools, spine board and ladders to rescue the casualty. The casualty was conveyed to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Crews were detained approximately twenty minutes.

At 19:48 hours on Sunday 13th October 2019 two fire engines attended a building fire on Tewthwaite Hill Road, Soulby. The fire was inside an outbuilding which was extinguished using one hose reel and small tools. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 70 minutes.

At 21:03 hours on Sunday 13th October 2019 two fire engines attended a persons reported incident at Nelson Street in Barrow-in-Furness. The incident involved a cooker fire. The occupier self-rescued prior to fire service arrival. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The property was also ventilated to clear smoke. Firefighters were on scene for twenty seven minutes.

At 14:54 hours on Sunday 13th October three fire engines attended reports of a building fire in Burnfoot, Wigton. Fire involved a corrugated iron clad building, a quantity of cloth, rubbish and one argon gas cylinder. Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one thermal image camera to extinguish the fire. Fire service remained at scene for approximately one hour.

At 00:48 Hours on the 13th of October 2019, 3 Fire Engines were mobilised to reports of a person in water near to the Sands Centre Carlisle. On arrvial crews worked with partner agencies to ensure the welfare of the person and handed them into the care of NWAS. Crews were in attendance for approximately 15 minutes.

At 11:29 hours on the 12th of October, 1 Fire Engine attended a major gas leak on the A66 at Cockermouth. Fire Crews worked with partner agencies to put a cordon inplace to ensure safety of the public and then worked with the gas board to isolate and make the gas leak safe. Crews were in attendance for approximately ninety minutes.

At 09:39 hours two fire engines attended a gas leak at The Strand, Barrow in Furness. Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used one hose reel, one thermal imaging camera and a gas monitor to assess the incident. The leak was supressed by firefighters and the gas cylinder was handed over to a Calor Gas Engineer. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately two hours and forty five minutes.

At 17:14 hours, two fire engines attended a road traffic collision on the A6 at the Golden Fleece roundabout. One casualty was removed from the vehicle and handed over to paramedics. Fire service personnel were on scene for approximately sixty minutes.

At 19:32 hours on 5th October 2019, three fire engines attended a road traffic collision on Moorfield Street, Barrow-in-Furness. The incident involved a vehicle which had collided into a commercial property and ruptured the main gas pipe. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used dammit paste to stem the release of the gas until the arrival of cadent gas. Two casualties, who were released prior to the arrival of the fire service, were transferred to hospital and crews were engaged at scene for approximately two hours.

At 13:31 hours on the 5th October 2019; three fire engines attended a rescue of a horse at a farm in Corney. Firefighters used large animal rescue equipment, a harness and a quick release system to rescue the horse. Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours.

At 1357 hours on 2nd October fire engines from Kendal, Stavely, Arnside and the water bowser and support pump from grange attended a fire at Milnthrope. The fire involved one flat bed wagon in an outbuilding. Outbuilding approximately 10 metres x 15 metres. Outbuilding also containing hay which has spread to the roof. Fire crews are using four breathing apparatus and three compressed air foam jets in use. Fire crews were detained approximately three hours.

At 13:36 on Saturday 28th September, four fire engines attended reports of a child stuck in mud on Devonshire Road, Barrow-in-Furness. One child was recovered from the mud by firefighters and crews remained on scene for approximately thirty minutes.

At 13:54 on 27th September 2019, three fire engines attended a rescue of person in water on the U3293 to the C3080 Crosby Garrett. The incident involved a casualty who was in a vehicle which had fallen into a ford. Firefighters used a line to secure the vehicle. The casualty and the vehicle were both brought to safety by fire service personnel. Crews were on scene for just over one hour.

Crews were in attendance at the incident for forty minutes.

At 17:04 hours on 22nd September 2019, two Fire Engines were mobilised to a road traffic collision involving one car on the road between Rockcliffe Harker to Rockcliffe Crossing. Firefighters extricated one casualty from vehicle using Holmatro cutting equipment. This is a fatal incident. Fire crews were in attendance for ninety minutes.
