At 14:08hours on Saturday 23rd February two fire engines from Grange and Kendal attended reports of a commercial property fire at Witherslack. On arrival crews discovered a fire which was confined to the ladies toilets. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hosereel jet and one thermal image camera to extinguish the fire. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately fifty minutes.

At 12:54 on the 23rd February 2019, two fire engines from Carlisle east and Carlisle west attended a report of a building fire on Rookery square, Scotby. On arrival crews found a fire involving a cooker in a domestic property, the fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel. Fire crews administered oxygen to one casualty suffering with smoke inhalation. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately fifty-five minutes.

At 11:14 on the 23rd February 2019, two fire engines from Ulverston and one fire engine from Barrow attended a report of a building fire on Bigland drive, Ulverston. On arrival crews discovered a fire in the first floor bedroom of a detached domestic property. The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and five minutes.

At 08:01hours on Saturday 23rd February two fire engines from Ulverston attended Quebec Street Ulverston.
The fire involved a domestic property and the. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hosereel jet to extinguish the fire. One casualty was evacuated from the building by fire service personnel suffering from smoke inhalation and oxygen therapy was administered by fire service personnel. Ambulance attended and the casualty was left in their care. Crews were on scene for approximately forty minutes.

On 22nd February 2019 at 17:14 hours four fire engines from Carlisle west, Carlisle east, Brampton and Longtown were mobilised to Botchergate, Carlisle. On arrival crews found a Road Traffic Collision involving one car and one bus. One casualty was extricated by fire service personnel using Holmatro cutting gear. Fire service remained at scene for approximetly thirty five minutes.

At 19:31 on 21st February 2019, two fire engines, one each from Carlisle East and Carlisle West, were mobilised to a report of a flat fire on Chatsworth Square in Carlisle. On arrival, firefighters requested assistance from two further fire engines. One each from Brampton and Longtown were mobilised. The fire involving a first floor flat was well alight and four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to fight the fire. After the fire was extinguished, 2 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke and salvage operations commenced on the ground floor. Crews were on scene for over three hours.

At 12:26 hours on 21st February 2019, three fire engines from Barrow, Ulverston and Walney attended a persons reported fire on Ewan Close, Barrow-in-Furness. The fire involved a kitchen in a domestic property. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Two casualties were transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to bring the fire under control. There were two casualties involved and the crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and thirty five minutes.

On arrival crews found a fire involving a flat. One person was rescued from the premises. Crews used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and one large hammer to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty five minutes.

Crews used two breathing apparatus, 1 extinguisher, one hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. There were two casualties suffering smoke inhalation. Crews were in attendance for approximately forty five minutes.

At 14:21 hours, two fire engines from Carlisle East and Carlisle West fire stations attended reports of a serious road traffic collision on Broadfield Road, Southwaite. The collision involved three vehicles with persons trapped. Crews used stabilisation equipment, small tools and Holmatro and Clan Lucas cutting equipment to extricate the casualties. All casualties were handed over to the care of the Ambulance Service. Crews worked alongside, North West Ambulance Service, Great North Air Ambulance Service and Cumbria Police and were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

At 23:49 hours on February 16th 2019 two fire engines, one from Penrith and one from Appleby attended a road traffic collision at Battlebarrow Appleby in Westmorland. One casualty who was medically trapped was released by fire service using Holmatro cutting equipment and left in the hands of paramedics. Crews were at the scene for just under one hour.

Fire-fighters used stabilisation equipment and Holmatro cutting gear to release one casualty from the vehicle along with one dog. Crews were in attendance for approximately fifty minutes.

At 19:57, one fire appliance from Ulverston was mobilised to reports of a ruptured gas main, caused by a vehicle collision at Westmorland Street, Barrow-in-Furness. Fire-fighters used environmental equipment to stop the gas leak and assisted Cumbria Police with setting up a cordon and the evacuation of nearby premises. The incident was handed over to Cadent Gas Engineers once in attendance. Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and ten minutes.

At 11:32 hours one fire engine from Shap and one from Penrith attended Back Lane in Shap. Firefighters assisted paramedics in the rescue of a person at height. A paraguard was used to lower the casualty to ground level, who was handed to the care of ambulance crews. The fire service was in attendance for approximately ninety-five minutes.

Fire crews were detained at scene for approximately fifty minutes.

At 17:11 hours one fire engine from Kirby Stephen and one from Kendal went to assist with reports of a horse that had become trapped in deep mud at Ravenstonedale, Kirby Stephen. Firefighters also requested the 4x4 from Sedbergh due to terrain and location of incident. Firefighters using the large animal rescue equipment along with digging out techniques rescued one horse from a deep muddy bog. The mountain rescue team were also in attendance along with a vet . Fire crews were detained at scene for approximately two hours.

On arrival crews found a large area of flooding. Once the water was isolated crews used pumping equipment and the high volume pump to remove water from the area. Crews were in attendance for approximately 8 hours.

At 20:54, Two fire engines from Barrow and Walney, The joint incident command unit from Walney and a number of other agencies attended a search and rescue at Barrow slag heap.
Firefighter crews used torches, thermal image cameras and search techniques to help locate the casualty. One casualty was located on the shore side of the cliff face. First aid was administered and the casualty was removed to safety.
