At 03:44 hours on Wednesday 19th January 2022, three fire engines attended an incident on Rydal Road, Ambleside. The fire involved a commercial property. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one main jet and a thermal image camera to extinguish the fire and were detained for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

On arrival fire crews discovered a fire involving a small portion of a roof on a domestic property and used one hose reel and small tools to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for fire spread. Fire crews were in attendance for approximately thirty minutes.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and two compressed air foam branches, one triple extension ladder, one hose reel jet and small tools. Crews were detained for one hour twenty minutes

The fire involved approximately ten thousand tonnes of refuse and firefighters used two jets, two thermal imaging cameras and on-site fire riser systems to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on the scene for approximately three hours.

At 10:26 hours on the 1st January, 2022, three fire engines attended a rescue of person in water at St Herberts island, Cumbria. There were two casualties stranded on an island within the body of water. Fire service assisted in rescuing the casualties using a national trust boat to bring them back to shore. There were no injuries reported. Crews were on scene for just over one hour.
