At 01:45 on 12th December, two fire engines attended an incident at Hensingham, Whitehaven. On arrival crews found a large refuge fire which was extinguished using one ground monitor. Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours and thirty minutes.

At 1303 hours on 7th December 2019, three fire engines from Barrow and Ulverston attended a commercial building fire in Barrow in Furness. The fire involved a high voltage sub station. Crews used one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and forty five minutes.

On the 7th December 2019 at 00:14 hours fire engines from Carlisle East, Carlisle West and Longtown fire stations attended a fire in Carlisle. The fire involved a kitchen in a property and crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Two casualties were suffering from smoke inhalation. The fire service were in attendance for two hours and ten minutes.

At 22:16 on Friday 6th December two fire engines from Carlisle West and Carlisle East responding to reports of a fire involving a domestic dwelling in Carlisle. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire and ventilate the property. One casualty suffering from smoke inhalation was treated by North West ambulance service and transported to hospital. Cumbria fire and rescue service remained in attendance at the incident for one hour and twenty minutes.

At 08:15 on the 3rd of December 2019, 2 Fire Appliances attended a road traffic collision in Blackford Carlisle. On arrival crews found 1 person trapped in the car and two walking wounded, crews used E-Draulic cutting gear to extricate the person and were in attendance for approximately 1 hour.

At 13:21 hours on 2nd December 2019, two fire engines were called to reports of a fire on Rothay Road, Ambleside. On arrival fire crews discovered there had been a fire involving a plastic bowl on a cooker which was out on arrival. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one thermal imaging camera to clear smoke logging and to check for hot spots. One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation by fire crews at the scene using oxygen therapy. Crews were in attendance for approximately fifteen minutes.

At 11:03 hours on 2nd December 2019, three fire engines attended reports of carbon monoxide present in a building on Penrith Place, Barrow-in-Furness. On arrival crews found a 2 storey mid terraced house with a suspected carbon monoxide leak. Two firefighters wearing apparatus and a gas monitor inspected the property and then handed over to the on scene gas engineer. Crews were in attendance for approximately forty five minutes.

Crews used stabilisation equipment and triple extension ladder to release one casualty from the vehicle. The casualty was handed over to the ambulance service. Crews were detained for approximately one hour.

At 10:46 hours on 30th November 2019, three fire engines attended a rescue of persons from sand on the seafront at Redhills Road, Arnside. The casualty was located approximately ten metres from the water and was trapped by one leg. Fire crews worked with HM coastguard to free the casualty using digging tools and remained at scene around one hour.

The fire involved an under-stairs cupboard within a building measuring twelve meters by twelve meters, consisting of two floors. Firefighters used six Breathing Apparatus, one Hose Reel Jet, one Covering Jet, two Thermal Imaging Cameras and a Positive Pressure Ventilation Unit. Crews remained at scene around two hours and twenty minutes.

Firefighters were detained approximately five hours.
