At 22:37 hours on the 8th August 2020, three fire engines attended a derelict building fire at Hallwood road, Lillyhall. The fire involved a quantity of rubbish and timber within a derelict warehouse and firefighters used hydraulic equipment, one hose reel jet, two main jets and lighting to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene for approximately two and a half hours.

At 17:01 hours on the 8th August 2020, two fire engines attended a road traffic collision at the b5307 Newton arlosh to Angerton bridge, Kirkbride. The incident involved one motorcyclist who had left the carriageway and firefighters extricated the casualty from a ditch using a triple extension ladder. Crews remained on scene for approximately one and a half hours.

At 1737 on 3rd August 2020 one fire engine attended an incident on Jocks Hill Brampton. Crews gained access to the building and gave medical assistance to a casualty prior to the arrival of North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for approximately ninety minutes.

At 05:54 hours on Sunday 2nd august 2020 two fire engines attended Lane end torver. On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a deep fat fryer and the building was smoked logged. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and two thermal image camera’s to extinguish the fire.

On Friday 31st July 2020 at 14:14, four fire engines and the breathing apparatus support unit attended the A5093, Kirksanton. Fire involving a ground floor flat in a domestic property extinguished using six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, three thermal imaging cameras, small tools and one positive pressure ventilation unit. Crews remained on scene for over two hours.

At 11.18 on 31st of July 2020, two fire engines attended an incident on Biskey Howe road, Windermere. The road traffic collision involved one vehicle that had collided with a wall. Firefighters used Holmatro cutting equipment to extricate one casualty from the vehicle. Casualty was conveyed to hospital by North-west ambulance service. Crews were detained for approximately one hour ten minutes.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, one ground monitor and a thermal imaging camera. The incident is still ongoing.

Crews used cutting gear to extricate casualty from vehicle, one casualty was released from vehicle by fire service and conveyed to hospital by North West ambulance service. Crews were on scene for over ninety minutes.

Fire involving an agricultural building extinguished using three light portable pumps and one main jet. Crews were in attendance for over five hours.

At 07:52 hours on the 16th July 2020 three fire engines from Whitehaven and Frizington attended a fire involving a bedroom of a semi-detached domestic property on Ehen road, Cleator moor. One casualty was rescued from the property by fire service personnel suffering from burns and smoke inhalation and handed over to ambulance crews. Firefighters used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus, a triple extension ladder and a positive pressure ventilation unit to bring the fire under control. Crews were on scene for 2 hours.

One casualty was rescued by fire crews and left in the care of paramedics. Fire was located in the kitchen and involved cooking. Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and thermal imaging camera were in use. Fire crews were in attendance for fifty minutes.

The incident involved a cow that had become trapped within a bog on marsh lands and crews extricated the cow before leading it to safety. Crews remained on scene for approximately four hours.

The fire involved a large quantity of hay within a barn measuring approximately twenty metres by five metres. Crews used three hose reels, a ground monitor, two breathing apparatus, farm machinery, a quantity of compressed foam and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on scene for approximately five hours.
