Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service - Middle and Strategic Manager vacancies

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service are now welcoming applications for a number of current and future Middle and Strategic Manager vacancies.

To be eligible to apply, candidates must:

Station Manager vacancies:

Hold the post of competent Watch Manager or have demonstrated and maintained competency at Watch Manager level in the in the past 12 months.

Group Manager vacancies:

Hold the post of competent Station Manager or have demonstrated and maintained competency at Station Manager level in the past 12 months.

Area Manager vacancies:

Hold the post of competent Group Manager or have demonstrated and maintained competency at Group Manager level in the past 12 months. 

Successful Area Manager candidates will be expected to work the resilient Strategic Manager rota (currently under review) and be available in accordance with the Strategic Manager working arrangements policy (PDF 256kb)

Working this system and maintaining competency to Level 4 Strategic Incident Command includes the use of a provided car and additional 5% pensionable allowance

Successful candidates at Middle and Strategic Manager who are eligible, will be able to apply for a relocation allowance in line with Cumbria County Council relocation assistance policy (PDF 288kb) to a maximum amount of £ 8000.

Applications are also invited from existing competent Station, Group and Area Managers who are interested in transferring into Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.

Interviews: 

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a selection process.

For Station and Group Manager roles, the selection process will be held on Friday 31 May and Monday 10 June.

For Area Manager roles, the selection process will be held on Monday 3 June and Tuesday 4 June.

At the point of interview applicants will be asked for their role and location preference.

Prior to formal offer external applicants will be required to undertake a medical and fitness test prior to final job offer. DBS, right to work and reference checks will also be undertaken.
