  • Holocaust Memorial Day Flame

    Barrow Library

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2020 will mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In commemoration of this landmark anniversary, HMD Trust has asked communities around the country to create their own Memorial Flame artwork, 75 of which will be displayed at the UK Ceremony for HMD 2020, creating a unique national exhibition. Barrow Library warmly invites you to contribute to Barrow's Memorial Flame, by adding a finger print, collaging with tissue paper to complete our design inspired by the poem The Butterfly by Pavel Friedmann. The Barrow community are invited to drop into the library during opening hours from Monday 14th - Thursday 17th October to contribute. Spend a few minutes decorating the flame, learning about the Holocaust and meeting other members of our community. All welcome, no special skills required.
