3rd Cumbria Local Transport Plan
3rd Cumbria Local Transport Plan (2011-2026)
The new 3rd Local Transport Plan for Cumbria is a statutory document that sets out how roads, footways, cycleways, rights of way and bus and train services in Cumbria will be improved and managed. The new Plan contains a strategy for the next 15 years, 2011 to 2026, the policies to implement the strategy and a rolling programme of implementation plans showing where funding will be directed.

Key to a high quality successful Local Transport Plan will be one which meets the needs of the residents, businesses and visitors to Cumbria and through the development of the Plan we have aimed to ensure the views of interest groups, organisations, public bodies,Parish Councils, locality groups and the public have been fully integrated. In conjunction with the Cumbria Strategic Partnership the first Cumbria Transport Conference was held in October 2010.Over 70 delegates from partner organisations across Cumbria and the North-West as a whole attended the event at Rheged, Penrith. The information received in the workshops is being used to help shape the Cumbria Local Transport Plan 3 (LTP3). A summary of the mornings event is in the Final Summary report (pdf 76kb).
The conference was also recorded and the presentations uploaded onto You Tube and can be accessed through http://www.youtube.com/user/cumbriacountycouncil?feature=mhum
