HM The Queen - how to leave your condolence

Condolence books

Condolence books will be located in key community buildings throughout Cumbria. The books will be open on the first working day following the death of HM The Queen and will be closed the day after the state funeral. These condolence books will then be stored in Cumbria Archives.

The laying of flowers is suggested to take place outside churches and near monuments.

It is preferred for no cellophane wrappers to be left with the flowers, if possible.

HM Lord-Lieutenant for Cumbria, Mrs Claire Hensman and the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Mr Alan McViety will lay their flowers at Carlisle Cathedral in front of the East Window on Friday 9 September at 12noon.
