Local Members Scheme (LMS): Each Cumbria County Council Councillor has some funding available to support local initiatives and projects at their discretion, this is through the Local Members Scheme (LMS) budget. Recommendations for funding are made from your local County Councillor to Local Committee for approval at regular meetings throughout the year.

Local Members Scheme grants approved Carlisle Local Committee Wednesday 7 December 2016:-

  •   £ 1,000 each from the LMS budgets for Botcherby, Belah and Stanwix Urban, to Carlisle RFC Junior section towards their coach travel;

  • £ 2,000 from the LMS budget or Botcherby, to Carlisle City Council towards the delivery of the Greenspaces programme in Botcherby division;

  • £ 1,750 from the LMS budget for Botcherby to Riverside Housing Association, towards the delivery of their job club in Botcherby Community Centre;

  • £ 400 from the LMS budget for Houghton and Irthington to Stanwix Rural parish council towards the provision of a Christmas tree;

  • £ 2,000 from the LMS scheme for Houghton and Irthington to Crosby on Eden School towards the provision of a plasma screen to replace equipment damaged during Storm Desmond;

  • £ 450 from the LMS scheme for Botcherby to Samaritans, for the provision of signs;

  • £ 1000 each from the LMS schemes for Botcherby and Belah to CUFC football in the community, towards the provision of a defibrillator;

  • £ 1,000 from the LMS scheme for Stanwix Urban to Cumbria Wheelchair Sports Club, towards the provision of uniform;

  • £ 300 from the LMS scheme for Longtown to Reiver Arts and Crafts Society, towards the provision of crafts sessions leading to the creation of a cultural screen;

  • £ 275 from the LMS scheme for Brampton to Brampton PC Speedwatch group towards the purchase of a speed detection device;

  • £ 2,000 from the LMS scheme for Belah to Kingmoor Infant and Nursery School towards the replacement of the water boiler in the site kitchen;
