Planning Application Fees
All planning applications and applications for Certificates of Lawfulness should be submitted with a correct fee. A planning application that is submitted with an incorrect fee is deemed as not being valid and may not be registered or progressed until the correct fee is provided. Please note that there is no fee for Listed Building Consent Applications nor for applications for planning permission for demolition within a Conservation Area.
Planning Fees are set by national government and are laid-out in The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) Regulations 2012 as amended by The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2017). A simplified guide to fees can be downloaded from the Planning Portal.
If you submit a planning application online then the application fee can also be calculated by the Planning Portal's online fees calculator.
If you require any clarification on the fee that is required for a particular application please contact the Development Control team. Though please ensure that you can provide the following information before contacting us: -
- the size of the application site (the area in which the development is to take place) in square metres or hectares or the gross floor space created if the application is for a new building.
- the type of development (what the application is for).
